Responsibilities

This is your chance to join the team at Orpheus Island Lodge as part of Morris Escapes (formerly Northern Escapes). We are looking for a highly skilled, professional Chef de Partie - a person who is capable of driving excellent product, service and team culture. At Orpheus Island Lodge, and across all Morris Escapes destinations, we are dedicated to ensuring the highest level of service and the smooth operation of all kitchen operations.

As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting kitchen & front-of-house staff in delivering great food on a consistent basis;
  • On-shift management of your section;
  • Maintaining service standards & contributing to team culture & guest experience;
  • Creative menu development with senior chefs;
  • Helping with catering for special events & private dining experiences;
  • Making recipes from scratch, using only locally-sourced ingredients;
  • Financial & cost management within scope of responsibilities;
  • Helping to train, motivate & develop junior kitchen workers;
  • Ordering & stock control;
  • Quality control of food preparation & presentation;
  • Preparing & cooking all food items;
  • Helping to maintain kitchen procedures;
  • Ensuring compliance to all regulations, food safety standards & WHS requirements; and
  • General kitchen operational duties as required.

Full-Time Salary: $75,000 - $80,000
