Job Description As our Chef de Partie with the Pastry Team, you will play an essential role in ensuring a section of the kitchen is organised and operates efficiently and productively, as well as ensuring that all service and brand standards are met. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Work with the executive pastry chef and the pastry team to supervise and support the daily pastry production and delivery of all related outlets to high standards expected, with creativity, passion and application of specialist skills. Being a motivated Pastry chef with a positive attitude who also has an interest in progressing your culinary career and developing your skills working in a great like-minded environment. You will be responsible for producing a range of desserts, cakes, and pastries to the hotel's high standards of 5-star level, giving you exposure to luxury dining cookery, whilst maintaining excellent presentation standards and having the ability to always stay organised and on top of your work. Help to train and support the junior ambassadors in the kitchen with knowledge and skill sets, and delegate duties and responsibilities to ambassadors to ensure service demands are met. Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage, having stock control procedures implemented and maintained. Keeping all work areas clean and tidy and assist with the implementation and maintenance of Sofitel Standards, recipes HACCP program to ensure the high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the pastry kitchen and related outlets. Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned, reporting any problems to the Executive Pastry Chef. Be able to work with minimal supervision and monitor the productivity of other ambassadors. Fulfill any reasonable request from the management and be proactive when implementing new procedures and recipe ideas. Qualifications Qualification in Commercial Cookery. Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail. 2 - 3 years of experience working in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant. Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends & public holidays. Proven ability to supervise day-to-day operations while maintaining exceptional service standards Hands-on experience coaching, developing, and motivating teams in a fast-paced operational setting Strong capability in managing workflows, rostering, and service delivery to meet business and guest expectations. Experience upholding brand standards, SOPs, and compliance requirements with a high level of attention to detail. Proven track record of fostering a positive, professional, and service-driven team culture A genuine passion for gastronomy. Sound understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
