SUMMARY

Assists in the preparation and production of ingredients and basic menu items for catered and daily service in a high-volume kitchen setting.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 year of experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen preferred.
• Basic knife handling and food preparation skills.
• Understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to read and follow basic recipes and instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a culinary team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow prep lists and instructions provided by chefs and sous chefs.
• Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits.
• Portion and measure ingredients accurately.
• Label and store ingredients properly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and prep areas.
• Follow all food safety and handling procedures.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of workstations.
• Support cooks and chefs with basic kitchen tasks as directed.
• Communicate any issues or shortages to kitchen leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
