OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and cooking, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in food preparation and meal service, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, including equipment and utensils.
  • Wash, sanitise, and properly store all utensils, crockery, and cookware after use.
  • Clean kitchen surfaces, preparation areas, and cooking equipment regularly throughout and after service, including scheduled deep cleaning tasks (e.g. ovens, grills, and storage areas).
  • Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and bins are emptied and cleaned daily.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Assist in the development of new menu items and specials as required.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting it’s desirable.
  • Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
