We’re looking for a Chef de Partie to join the team at Southport Sharks on a full-time basis. Someone who has passion, flair and creativity to bring authentic Mexican dishes to life and be part of the opening team. This opportunity is your chance to join from the very beginning and help bring this new restaurant to life.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Preparing and presenting vibrant, authentic Mexican dishes with consistency and flair
• Supporting the smooth running of your section while maintaining high food quality and standards
• Monitoring food quality, minimising wastage and ensuring compliance with HACCAP and food safety standards
• Assist with training and mentoring of upcoming chefs to help building a strong and talented team
• Contribute to a positive and motivated culture through clear communication and collaboration
• Promoting safe work practices and maintaining efficiency across the kitchen
• Keep up to date with current food trends
• Ability to independently manage the food offering, working with initiative and minimal supervision to ensure smooth operations.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WOULD NEED TO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

• Experience working in Mexican cuisine is essential
• Qualified with a minimum Cert IV in Commercial Cookery
• Food Safety Hygiene qualification
• Familiarity with the Food Safety Act and WHS legislation
• Time Management skills is a must
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and confident under pressure
