Farmer’s Apprentice Restaurant is a Michelin-awarded Bib Gourmand contemporary farm-to-table restaurant located in Vancouver, Canada, sourcing the best local products to create imaginative dishes based on our diverse cultural backgrounds and daily inspirations.
We are looking for a full time Chef de Partie to join our small team. Applicants must have a 4-5 years experience as a cook; with a passion for working with seasonal produce and ethically sourced proteins. This role is best suited to career-driven individuals with a strong work ethic; and who thrive in working as part of a team to collaborate in dish creation as well as to nurture each other’s personal development and growth. As we are a small restaurant, duties and responsibilities include kitchen supply acquisition and assisting the chef in managing kitchen operations. Duties:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient service
- Monitor food quality and presentation
- Contribute their thoughts and ideas in coming up with seasonal delicious dishes
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced food service environment and/or in a fine dining establishment
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Open to learning about food, different culinary cultures, and their influence on modern cooking
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties and requirements. The Chef de Partie will be expected to perform additional tasks as assigned by the management team.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $180.00-$200.00 per day
