We are looking for a qualified Chef who has developed their culinary skills in a fast-paced
kitchen for a minimum of one year. This role is well suited for a dedicated and enthusiastic
professional with a genuine passion for cooking and delivering high-quality meals.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant AQF qualification in Commercial Cookery and Hospitality Management
  • Minimum one year’s relevant experience in a hotel, café, or restaurant

  • Dedicated to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Adept at conveying information clearly and succinctly
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Willing to assist and collaborate with others as needed, fostering positive relationships with team members.

  • Capacity to perform under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
    Also, you should have unrestricted work entitlements if you are on a temporary visa.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present food for both regular service and special events.
  • Choose premium ingredients to enhance the taste and quality of meals and monitor the quality during preparation and serving.
  • Manage menu development, including planning, costing, and evaluating new dishes.
  • Coordinate with the manager, owner and other kitchen staff on kitchen operation issues and planning.
  • Inspect delivered goods to confirm they meet quality and quantity expectations and align with purchase specifications.
  • Track inventory levels and implement measures to minimise food waste.
  • Ensure kitchen operations meet food safety and hygiene standards through regular inspections and compliance enforcement.
  • Test and refine new dish concepts to create new items that draw in customers.
  • Procure food and additional supplies as required and ensure safe storage.
  • Instruct/Train junior staff in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation techniques.
