Looking for a chef role without the late nights?

Join the kitchen team at Farmer Copleys and enjoy the opportunity to work with great Yorkshire produce, in a busy and varied kitchen, while benefiting from daytime working hours and a better work-life balance.

We're looking for an experienced Chef who takes pride in producing great food and enjoys working as part of a friendly, hardworking team.

About Farmer Copleys:

Farmer Copleys is a much-loved Yorkshire farm and food destination, home to an award-winning farm shop, our popular Moo Café, an on-site bakery, butchery and a busy events business.

Our café is open seven days a week and serves a seasonal menu, daily specials and food made using quality local produce. Our meat is sourced from our award-winning on-site butchery, and throughout the year we cater for thousands of visitors across our café, events and seasonal festivals.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing business where quality ingredients, great food and excellent customer service really matter.

What you'll be doing:

Working alongside the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you'll help deliver consistently high-quality food for our café customers and events.

Your role will include:

  • Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
  • Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Helping create dishes that look and taste great
  • Working with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and presentation
  • Following food safety and allergen procedures
  • Helping monitor food quality, waste and kitchen costs
  • Supporting your colleagues during busy services
  • Contributing to a positive, professional and friendly kitchen environment

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has professional kitchen/chef experience
  • Has a genuine passion for good food
  • Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality dishes
  • Works well under pressure during busy services
  • Is organised, reliable and a strong team player
  • Has good knowledge of food hygiene and allergen requirements
  • Has excellent practical cooking skills and attention to detail
  • Is happy to get stuck in and support the wider kitchen team

Professional qualifications are desirable, but practical experience and the right attitude are equally important.
