Chef wanted for our childcare centre to prepare meals for our students. In addition to menu planning, food prep, purchasing and budgeting, this position will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing and dishwashing. All meals must be appropriate for children aged between 10 months to 5 years of age.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals for approximately 100-120 children ages 0 to 5
• Wash and sanitize dishes/pots/cutlery after all meals
• Maintain inventory and purchase grocery items
• Maintain a budget and handle company credit card
• Create nutritionally balanced meal plans appropriate for young children
• Work effectively within a team and work well independently
• Keep an immaculate environment by washing and sanitizing equipment, surfaces, cupboards and floors
• Adhere to local health authority guidelines and liaise with the Health Inspector
• Ability to accommodate various allergies/dietary requirements
• Punctual, dependable and confident in nutritional knowledge
• Enjoy cooking in a fast-paced atmosphere with changing priorities
• Enjoy working around children and Educators

Requirements:

• Food Safe Certificate
• Clear Criminal Record Check specific to working around children
• Experience cooking healthy meals for large groups
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle

Additional Assets:

• First Aid
• Chef training/certification
• Courses in nutrition
• Courses in sanitation and hygiene practices
• Class 4 Drivers License
