JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the culinary industry and a strong commitment to creating high-quality dishes. At Schnitz Burwood One, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, local ingredients and be part of a dynamic team that values creativity and excellence.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AQF associate degree, Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma certification in relevant Hospitality qualification.
  • Prior Experience as a Chef.
  • Strong Knowledge of Cooking Methods and operating kitchen tools and equipment
  • Fair understanding of classical European and English culinary traditions or willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to work Full Time
  • Flexible to work on a rotating roster.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
  • Preparation and cooking of food in accordance with our menu.
  • Ensuring food handling and storage is in accordance with food handling regulations and is of the highest standard.
  • Oversee food plating and garnishing, maintaining consistency and artistic presentation.
  • Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements.
  • Create and test new recipes, experimenting with Flavors and techniques to innovate the menu.
  • Regulate the temperature of stoves and oven to ensure the dishes are cooked at appropriate levels.
  • Check food is stored and handled as per food health and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Help with planning of menu items and estimation of food requirements.
