From greeting our families each morning with a friendly smile and a barista-made coffee and treat, to conjuring up interesting and exciting food for our children, it’s all in a day’s work as Chef of our [LOCATION] Centre. Day to day, in this role, you can enjoy:
Using your mastery knowledge of cooking, to plan an interesting and exciting menu for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old
Preparing a wide variety of nutritious meals and purees, as well as working to dietary requirements for babies and children
Confidently managing the kitchen autonomously, ensuring effective stock rotation, budgeting, and shopping for your kitchen
Ensuring the highest level of food safety and supervision in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements and Green Leaves Early Learning Standards
Mentoring and guiding a kitchen hand in a professional environment, to deliver the highest quality of food and service
Providing thoughtful culinary classes alongside our Educators, to our littlest learners.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Current Senior First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certificates
  • State relevant Working with Children Check, Blue Card, or Safety Screening
  • Current Child Protection Training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with proven experience juggling a wide range of demands and priorities, and managing time effectively
  • Ability to work from 6.30 am to 2.30 pm in line with the opening of the Centre each day.
