REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Min 2 years’ experience advantageous in a similar role
  • Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a variety of cuisines
  • Excellent communications skills within a diverse team
  • Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods, ability to prep ahead
  • Experience in managing and maintaining food safety program including documentation
  • Monitoring and supervising WHS standards and procedures
  • Proven history working in a busy kitchen - in all sections with focus on grill
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
  • Driver’s License

Responsibilities

As an experienced Chef of the Hotel kitchen, you will have overarching responsibilities. You will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service, with the smooth day-to-day operation in a Kitchen consisting of rotating roster over lunch and dinner, implementing a strong service focus and ensuring that efficient standards and practices are employed.
You will assist in overseeing all kitchen employees, including training and performance development at Hotel Bruny. You will be responsible for providing delicious meals according to menu for guests dining at our venues. You will also liaise with front of house staff to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of daily services.
