JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team at The Maharana, a leading Indian takeaway service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine, with the ability to create authentic dishes that showcase the rich flavours and spices of the region. As a Chef, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our menu offerings, from starters to mains to sides. Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including starters, mains, and sides, according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients used in food preparation.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine menu items, incorporating feedback from customers and management.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple orders and ensuring timely preparation and delivery of food.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on proper cooking techniques and food presentation.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience working as a Chef, preferably in a restaurant or takeaway setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, including traditional cooking methods, spices, and flavour profiles.
  • Strong culinary skills, with the ability to prepare a wide range of Indian dishes to a high standard.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality and consistency in food preparation.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.
