SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 months of experience in a supervisory or managerial position within a restaurant.
  • Strong knife skills and a deep understanding of Japanese cooking methods.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Fast, accurate plating and presentation skills for Japanese cuisine.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be involved in preparing a variety of hot dishes, assisting with sushi production, and supporting the head chef in running a smooth and efficient kitchen.

KEY DUTIES

  • Prepare hot meals using wok techniques, including noodle stir-fries and teriyaki-based dishes.
  • Cut, portion, and prepare meat to specification.
  • Assist with menu development, dish creation, and sushi preparation.
  • Maintain high standards for presentation, plating, and overall food quality.
  • Ensure a clean, hygienic, and well-organized workstation.
  • Provide guidance to junior chefs and support team development.
