ABOUT THE ROLE

Joe’s Garage Five Mile is part of a nationwide hospitality brand known for its energetic vibe and consistently high-quality food and beverage offerings. We are currently seeking two full-time Chefs to join our busy kitchen team. The ideal candidates will be passionate about food, efficient under pressure, and committed to delivering a memorable experience to every guest.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of menu items across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet brand standards.
  • Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure timing and consistency, especially during busy periods.
  • Work collaboratively to plan daily prep, manage special requests, and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly.
  • Support stock control through portioning, stock rotation, and minimizing food waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment at all times.
  • Contribute to menu development, food costing, and the introduction of seasonal dishes.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Follow health, hygiene, and food safety protocols in accordance with NZ standards and internal procedures.
