Duties
1. Monitoring staff while they work during their shifts and making sure the kitchen functions properly, particularly when it comes to pre-cooking preparations like cleaning, chopping, peeling, slicing, stirring, mixing, mincing, marinating, grilling, blanching, poaching, and boiling a variety of meats, seafoods, vegetables, and fruits.2. Plan our menu items while taking into account the preferences of our customers and also considering several food categories including meats, poultry, breads, salads, and desserts.3. 3.Supervised kitchen workers while they prepared meals, making sure prepared meal suits customers dietary and cultural requirements.4. 4.Preparing a range of food dishes from our restaurant’s menu by using various cooking techniques. Examining prepared dishes by tasting them to ensure they are of highest quality and well-presented before it is served to our customers.5. Maintaining the logical process of food preparation to deliver orders on time.6. Ensuring rotation of stock and preparation of food by using FIFO (First in First Out). Prepare a list of items required in the kitchen and order food supply. Make sure to minimise wastage in the kitchen at all times.7. Making an estimate of food and labour cost of necessary supplies, such as food and ingredients. Keep tracking the quality of food at all stages of preparation. Assisting with and planning staff rosters.8. Ensure keeping stock in accordance with the OHS requirements and the food safety program to avoid any cross contamination. Gathering ingredients from the fridges and freezers as needed to start-up the kitchen for preparing food and put back those left to the proper storage areas to avoid spoilage.
Detailed duties will be discussed on interview day.
Education: Certificate III and IV in commercial Cookery.
Experience: Minimum Three years of work experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $77,000.00 per year
