Summerhill Market are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented professional who can combine culinary expertise, nutritional knowledge, and data management skills to support our kitchen operations and nutritional programs. This hybrid role is ideal for someone passionate about creating healthy, delicious meals while ensuring accurate nutrition analysis and efficient data entry to maintain our recipe, inventory, and compliance databases.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times (in line with HACCP or local food safety regulations).
  • Assist with menu development, including sourcing and testing new recipes that align with nutritional requirements.
  • Oversee portion control, presentation standards, and consistency in food quality.
  • Collaborate on designing nutritionally balanced menus for a variety of dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free, allergen-free).
  • Conduct nutritional analysis for recipes, ensuring compliance with labeling and dietary guidelines.
  • Advise on ingredient substitutions to accommodate allergies, health concerns, or cultural preferences.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of nutrition science and food trends.
  • Accurately input recipes, nutritional data, and inventory information into digital systems (POS, inventory software, or spreadsheets).
  • Maintain accurate food cost, supplier, and stock records for reporting purposes.
  • Track and update allergen information and nutritional labels.
  • Support administrative reporting on food waste, procurement, and menu costing.
