Founded in 1912, The Skating Club of Boston is a founding member of U.S. Figure Skating and a primary center for both high-performance training and recreational skating in the United States. Our new, state-of-the-art facility in Norwood also includes a modern event space and café serving Club members, professional coaches, elite athletes, and guests. At the Club’s café, we pride ourselves on serving freshly made food, with the majority of our offerings prepared from scratch onsite.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Part-Time Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality, freshly made food for daily café service and special events. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to produce exciting daily specials and buffets for catering functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of 3 years professional cooking experience required.
· Catering or high-volume food service experience preferred.
· Strong culinary skills with the ability to produce food consistently at a high standard.
· Creative ability to design specials, menus, and buffets.
· Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Flexibility to work between 2–4 shifts per week depending on business needs.
· Prepare, cook, and present freshly made menu items from scratch.
· Develop creative specials and buffets for café service and catered events.
· Assist with planning and execution of catered functions, including competitions and special events.
· Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in all kitchen areas.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
· Support kitchen and café operations as needed.
