JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Culinary Service Chef at Samaritan Bethany, you will:

  • Prepares meals in accordance with planned menu, and in accordance with sanitary regulations and organization policies and procedures.
  • Prepares food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus and production sheets.
  • Prepares food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
  • Responsible to ensure that food is prepared, cooked, or stored under appropriate temperatures and with safe food handling techniques.
  • Prepares food in a form to meet individual needs of the residents.
  • Ensures that food storage areas are clean and properly arranged at all times.
  • Ensures that food and supplies for the next meal are thawed and prepared in advance as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year of experience as a cook preferred, especially within a long term care facility or hospital.
  • One year of experience supervising staff, preferably in culinary services.
  • Knowledge of the basic skills, techniques, and fundamentals of food service management, quality food production and therapeutic nutrition.
