Chef Supervisor
Location: Isle of Sheppey
Salary: £19.50ph, plus increased rate for weekends, holiday pay and company pension
Working Hours: 37 per week, every other weekend off and no evenings with a finish by 5:30pm

Based on the Isle of Sheppey, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Chef who is ready to join a supportive team in a fast paced and rewarding Public Sector environment.
We are working with our client in the search for a chef for an ongoing temporary role, which could lead to a permanent position, pending a successful application process.

Working under the job title of Chef Supervisor, your responsibilities will be:

  • Preparing and cooking high quality and mouthwatering meals for large numbers within a secure facility
  • Catering for a variety of dietary requirements and adhering to health guidelines
  • Managing your own section of a busy kitchen, whilst supervising and supporting junior team members
  • Contributing towards efficient teamwork and a smooth running of the daily operations of the kitchen
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen area
  • Working alongside your line manager to deliver training and development to junior kitchen staff

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

As a Chef supervisor working for us, we value your contributions and dedication, and as such you can expect the following hourly pay rate:

  • Monday to Friday - £19.50ph. Plus a further £2.35ph in holiday pay
  • Saturday - £23.00ph. Plus a further £2.77ph in holiday pay
  • Sunday - £25.00ph. Plus a further £3.00ph per hour in holiday pay
  • Bank Holiday - £39.00ph. Plus a further £4.70ph in holiday pay

Alongside your salary, you will also enjoy a 37-hour working week on a rota basis, with hours ranging between 7:00am starts and no later than a 5:30pm finish.
You’ll will also benefit from alternate weekends off, access to a company pension, and receive your pay on a weekly basis, so no waiting all month to get paid!

What you’ll need:

  • Strong people and team supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate your fellow team members
  • A good knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
  • Proven experience in catering as a chef, with experience in large scale catering preferable
  • Ability to work and thrive under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Show compassion, care and understanding with junior staff members
  • Ability to solve problems in a calm and timely manner
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Valid food hygiene and allergen certificate (we can help provide this)
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
  • Be willing to undertake a security check (similar to a dbs)
