POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Chef to join our team on a full-time basis at our Port Kennedy location in Western Australia. In this role you will be responsible for the following;

  • Efficiently manage the kitchen.
  • Prepare and cook nutritious, well-presented food within budget constraints.
  • Operate the kitchen within food safety guidelines.
  • Uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Take responsibility for own conduct and comply with the code of conduct.
  • Ensure responsible work practices for catering, food safety and hygiene.
  • Manage meal preparation and cooking.
  • Produce nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
  • Assist in menu development.
  • Adhere to the approved cycle menu.
  • Manage portion control and wastage.
  • Direct and train staff on food presentation and preparation.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Comply with food safety programs, procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Order food to meet operational requirements and within budget.
  • Ensure resident satisfaction with meals, respecting their rights and dignity.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents and care staff.
  • Respond to residents’ dietary needs, requests and complaints.
  • Contribute to the organization’s continuous improvement.
  • Deliver professional food and customer service.
  • Visit satellite kitchens to ensure food standards and communication.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment by complying with safety regulations and policies.
  • Report hazards and incidents.
  • Maintain safe work practices and chemical storage.
  • Apply infection control procedures and maintain kitchen hygiene.
  • Comply with accreditation standards.
  • Attend staff meetings and act on feedback to improve service.
  • Record and refer feedback and contribute to resolving complaints and issues.
