POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chef is responsible for overseeing the kitchen, studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. The ideal candidate must have strong delegation skills while still holding their teams accountable. If you have experience with advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, and enjoy overseeing and developing a team, we’d like to meet you.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a high volume restaurant kitchen
  • Minimum 2 years of experience running and leading a restaurant kitchen
  • Hands-on experience with and knowledge of various kitchen equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management abilities
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations
  • Culinary school diploma preferred
  • Red Seal Certification considered an asset

Responsibilities
  • Uphold a positive culture by cultivating relationships, leading by example, and mentoring your team members
  • Actively be involved in training staff in all kitchen positions and systems
  • Maintain excellent food execution and food safety compliance
  • Ensure that food quality and standards are being met at all locations
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and oversee daily food preparation and production
  • Inventory control
  • COGS management
  • Ensure all food is up to the Hudsons standards
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
  • Oversee scheduling
