The successful candidate will have:
- Degree in Metallurgy (BSc) or Chemical / Process Engineering or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Resilience, ability to adapt and be flexible with changing and competing priorities
- Ability to influence others, accept individual accountability, and manage time and workload effectively
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively – written and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A genuine interest to move into a leadership role in the mid to long term
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate some of:
- Production planning, forecasting and optimisation for resource utilisation and unit cost
- Initiative to identify production inefficiencies, investigate, and apply practical solutions
- Detail oriented and strong Technical Report writing
- Exposure to non-ferrous metal smelting or pyrometallurgy, and heavy industry is desirable
- Exposure to Wonderware Historian, SQL data management, and Power BI or other visualisation software is desirable
- Strong computer literacy with advanced MS Excel
Reporting to Smelter Management, an attractive package, commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate will be offered.
