Job Summary: Interested in applying chemical engineering principles to real industrial processes? As a Chemical Engineering Intern at Centrus Energy, you’ll support the optimization and analysis of enrichment and supporting plant processes. This internship is ideal for students passionate about process systems, mass balance, thermodynamics, and continuous improvement in a highly technical environment. What You Will Do You’ll work with process engineers to analyze system performance, support process modeling activities, and assist with evaluating plant operating parameters. Projects may include performing mass and energy balance calculations, reviewing process flow diagrams and P&IDs, assisting with data trending and analysis, supporting process improvement initiatives, and contributing to safety and compliance documentation. You’ll collaborate with operations and engineering teams to identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reliability, and regulatory alignment.   We’d Love to Hear from People With: * Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate program in chemical engineering * Coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, or process design * Basic understanding of process flow diagrams and P&IDs * Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel or process modeling software * U.S. citizenship A Successful Candidate Brings: * Experience performing mass and energy balances in academic projects * Exposure to process simulation tools such as Aspen, MATLAB, or similar platforms * Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail * Completion of at least two years of college-level chemical engineering study In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
