CHEMICAL BLENDING OPERATOR

The McGean Chemical Company is a privately held specialty chemical company founded in 1929. The company is actively involved in developing, marketing, manufacturing, and selling chemical solutions to the global aviation maintenance industry and the specialty chemicals market. McGean is a growing company looking for hard working individuals with the need for a stable work environment in the chemical industry.
Hours per Week: 40 Plus OT
First Shift
Salary/Benefit Notes: $20-28/hour, depending on experience
Excellent Benefits package - medical, dental, 401K

EXPERIENCE WITH HANDLING CHEMICALS, BATCH, OR CONTINUOUS CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING IS A PLUS

Primary purpose of job: Safely manufacture and packaging liquid and powder specialty chemicals at the Livonia, MI chemical manufacturing plant.

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience in lean manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Ability to problem solve and work with manufacturing team to implement process and safety improvements.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fork truck license required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 55 lb on a regular basis.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment to safely handle all materials.
  • Ability to follow and document compliance of detailed manufacturing procedures.
  • Accurately complete basic math problems and effectively communicate with all employees.
