Machine Specialties, Inc. is a provider of machined components, special processing and complete assemblies to the aerospace industry. We have a variety of metal finishing processes within our facility. These currently include stainless steel passivation and a wide variety of aluminum anodizing processes. We are seeking a qualified and experienced engineer to ensure ongoing conformance of existing processes and to implement new wet processes including customer and 3rd party facility approvals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
  • 3 years minimum working experience in aerospace industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customer and accreditation agency auditors
  • Project management skills sufficient to coordinate all activities associated with stated responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new chemical processes as demand requires.
  • Initiate and manage facility approval by customers and accreditation agencies such as NADCAP.
  • Revise, maintain and manage procedures for control of existing chemical processes including:
  • Bath Control Limits - Bath Titration / Analysis - Bath Make Up
  • Perform scheduled analysis and bath adjustments as appropriate.
  • Ensure records are maintained to demonstrate the ongoing conformance of bath chemistries to required limits.
  • Revise, maintain and manage procedures for control of wastewater discharge including:
  • Treatment Equipment Operation / Maintenance program
  • Sampling and Analysis
  • Solid Waste Disposal
  • Ensure records are maintained to demonstrate the ongoing compliance of wastewater discharges and management practices in accordance with permit requirements.
  • Represent our company as the administrator of wastewater management discharge program during interactions with permitting agencies.
  • Manage wastewater permit application revisions and renewal as required.
  • Revise, maintain and manage procedures for control of plant wide air emissions including:
  • Chemical Process Air control device operation / maintenance program
  • Paint Booth Air control device operation / maintenance program
  • Ensure records are maintained to demonstrate the ongoing compliance of air emissions management practices in accordance with permit requirements.
  • Represent our company as the administrator of air emissions compliance program during interactions with permitting agencies.
  • Manage air emissions permit application revisions and renewal as required.
  • Establish and implement appropriate safety procedures and practices involving the storage and use of hazardous or toxic chemical substances.
