SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, preferably in Chemistry.
  • Undergraduate or Master’s level research position in organic chemistry.
  • Polymer chemistry experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency with analytical instruments.
  • Strong grasp of chemical synthesis, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and process chemistry.
  • Ability to develop, modify, and scale chemical processes.
  • Lab management: organizing experiments, managing samples and chemicals safely.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Chemical Scientist to join our innovative R&D team. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving scientific discovery, developing novel chemical products, and optimizing processes that align with our mission to advance material science and sustainable technologies.
Whether you’re developing a new formulation, scaling up a process, or solving complex chemical challenges, your expertise will help shape the next generation of solutions in our industry. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Will report and work under the supervision of a PhD chemist.
  • Develops polymer surfactants for compatibility between polypropylene, polyethylene, and other polymers.
  • Designs and tests custom hydrogel systems.
  • Contributes to the development of organic isotope cascade purification systems.
  • Maintains accurate laboratory records and assists with data analysis.
  • Gains exposure to building custom laboratory instrumentation and robotics.
  • In-person role at the Burnaby laboratory.
