Join our dynamic team as a Chemical Technician specializing in oligonucleotide synthesis. You will play a critical role, and learn a lot about the DNA/RNA product life cycle - for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications - from synthesis to customer delivery. You will work in a controlled, ISO 9001 certified, environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Oligonucleotide Synthesis: Perform synthesis of DNA/RNA oligonucleotides to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Product Assembly & Kitting: Assemble and kit oligonucleotide-based products, ensuring they meet delivery deadlines and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Conduct QA and QC throughout the production process to maintain high product standards.
  • Data & Record Maintenance: Keep meticulous records of experimental data and production processes.
  • Equipment, Inventory, & Safety Management: Actively maintain laboratory and cleanroom equipment, manage inventory, and ensure cleanliness and safety protocols are followed.
  • SOP & Technical Reporting: Write and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and prepare and present technical reports.
  • Technical Group Meetings: Participate in technical group meetings to discuss progress and challenges, .
  • Regulatory Audits: Participate in regulatory audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of work experience in any field (including retail, fast food, or other service jobs), demonstrating strong work ethic and discipline.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude: Able to learn and understand different concepts (e.g., automated synthesis protocols, purification techniques, liquid handling systems, etc.).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. Autonomous with the ability to manage priorities and time.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office - esp. Word and Excel.
  • Willing and able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Willing and able to work evenings or weekends from time to time.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Knowledge of advanced DNA/RNA synthesis and purification techniques.
  • Familiarity with material characterization techniques (Oligo synthesizers, HPLC, mass spectrometry).
