OVERVIEW

Energenics, a SME performance chemicals business based at Begbroke Science Park near Oxford, supplies a range of innovative products to a domestic and international customer base. The main application fields are fuel additives, catalyst, coatings and wood treatments.
We are seeking a lab-based Chemist. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out QA chemical analysis on intermediates and finished products in accordance with our ISO 9001 system, liaising with external manufacturing partners and overseeing the day to day running of the laboratory.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out chemical analysis tests for Quality Assurance on production samples to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Generate Certificates of Analysis and other documents required by our ISO 9001 system.
• Liaise with our manufacturing partners, providing technical instructions and support.
• Provide technical support to customers, and internally as required.
• Carry out development work, such as process improvement, formulation improvement and stability testing.
• Day to day running of the laboratory, to include organising lab chemicals/samples, lab supplies, lab waste disposal and other activities.
• Maintain Health and Safety standards for laboratory.
• Liaise with service providers to maintain, service and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Participate flexibly in other business activities as may be occasionally required in a small, agile business.
• Occasional travel will be required
