Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Chemist to join our team on a FIFO roster from Perth to the team in Broome WA. This is for a roster of 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off. This is a unique opportunity to work on one of the world’s leading LNG projects while contributing your expertise in laboratory analysis and hydrocarbon testing.

Responsibilities include however not limited to:

  • Conduct routine and non-routine chemical analyses of hydrocarbons, LNG, and environmental samples.
  • Support the verification and optimisation of Gas Chromatography techniques for hydrocarbon analysis.
  • Manage sample collection, containers, freight, and off-site analysis safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Perform in-plant sampling as per schedules, ad-hoc, or emergency requirements.
  • Maintain training competencies, including dedicated annual training days in Perth.
  • Lead, coach, and support the development of junior team members.
  • Operate with a strong customer focus, delivering accurate and timely results.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A qualification in Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years’ laboratory experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven skills in sampling and analysis of hydrocarbons (liquid and gaseous).
  • Hands-on experience with gas chromatography, ion chromatography, UV/Vis photometry, and spectroscopy.
  • Hazard awareness and experience with live gas plant sampling stations and offtake protocols.
  • Familiarity with NATA/ISO 17025 accreditation requirements and experience using LIMS.
  • The ability to work independently, plan laboratory programs, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to share knowledge and train others.
