• Teach 5-6 courses (consisting of 8-10 recitation sections) of Chem 285, and/or 351, and/or 352, and/or 384, and/or 481, and/or 584/586. Participate with the other Chemistry faculty in deciding issues of course content and textbook selection. Give direction as appropriate to the students hired to teach the recitation sections
• Initiate and carry out creative activities in curriculum development related to the responsibilities of this position. This could include professional development leave opportunities. The Organic/Biochemistry Professor may seek external funding (but it is not required) and give reports or papers at national meetings when such activities contribute to the goals of this position
• The department chair will arrange the schedule for the coordinator to phase in teaching responsibilities during the first two years at BYU
• Participate in citizenship assignments at the university, college and department levels as assigned
