JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Chemistry Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting laboratory tests and analyses to ensure the quality and safety of products. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about scientific research and possess strong analytical skills.

  • The position is based in our UK office. We are unable to sponsor overseas candidates including 3 years student visa candidates, so applicants must either be UK citizen or hold permanent residency permits in the UK.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level within chemistry or related field is preferable, but other formal training/experience in a relevant field would be considered
  • Previous laboratory experience essential
  • Ability to work from written and verbal instructions accurately with minimal supervision
  • Ability to problem solve and liaise with other members of staff/departments
  • Previous experience within project management would be useful
  • A flexible attitude with regards to varied work tasks, supporting other areas of the business when required
  • Good organisational skills are a must, as is the ability to effectively multi-task, and prioritise when necessary

Responsibilities

DUTIES

  • Prepare samples of existing and developmental products
  • Quality control testing for incoming raw materials and finished products, ensuring they meet the required thermal/physical specifications
  • Analysing samples using differential scanning calorimetry and monitoring physical solidification/melting profiles
  • Other analytical techniques such as measuring pH, conductivity and density would also be required
  • Report writing and storing analytical results in both digital and paper formats
  • Act as an interface between the industrial and R&D sides of the company, providing chemical and lab support to the research engineers
  • Act as an interface between lab and manufacturing with regards to production scale up and customer requirements
  • Performing research for new products, improvement of existing products and existing analytical methods
