Description George School, an all-gender Quaker boarding/day high school located in Newtown, PA, seeks a full-time teacher of Chemistry beginning August 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year. Responsibilities: George School has a modified block schedule of 7 terms. The faculty teach 2 classes per term for 6 terms, and 3 classes for 1 term. Responsible for all aspects of lesson planning, instruction, and assessment. Foster a dynamic, interactive, and engaging learning environment. Partner collaboratively with other members of department. Serve on a school committee (waived in the first year). Advise approximately ten students (waived in the first year). Perform other community contributions, which may include coaching a sport, supervising a club, social or dorm activities, or evening study hall. Requirements Bachelor's degree in chemistry; advanced degree preferred. Experience teaching Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate curricula preferred. Experience using or integrating technology tools to enhance teaching and learning. An openness to exploring innovative teaching strategies and emerging technologies. Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. A willingness to take pedagogical risks to enhance student learning experiences. Dedication to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Interest in being a part of the community life of a boarding school. Demonstrated commitment to working towards belonging, inclusion and cultural competency. Commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community. Ability to work with a diverse student population and a style consistent with Quaker values.
