POSITION SUMMARY:

The general Technician position has basic experience within all disciplines spanning the entertainment industry. This position would be responsible for moving and installing materials and equipment on the stage areas, attaching décor, running power and data cabling, and assisting with other technical show items as deemed necessary. This position also includes providing support to the onsite team to operate equipment to deliver a successful show.

Essential Duties:

  • Install temporary AV equipment to facilitate the show operation across multiple venues – including but not limited to Sound, lighting and SFX
  • Basic programming and operation of QLab and lighting programmes as required on site
  • Work with the team to install a pop-up stage area and ensure all safety measures are adhered to for the duration of the events
  • Work cleanly and efficiently to deliver a stunning final event

EDUCATION:

Required: GCSEs or equivalent secondary education
Preferred: Vocational or technical training – Field of Study: welding, engineering, rigging, carpentry, electronics, audio, construction, electrician. The knowledge needed for this position are often not found in traditional college educations. Technical theatre education will be the closest thing, but so would any education in audio, lighting, electronics, rigging, welding, carpentry, design. It’s a myriad of technical skills that makes this a helpful education.

EXPERIENCE:

1 to 2 years of experience in the technical entertainment field.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Valid UK Driving Licence required.
CSCS and IPAF or similar construction safety certification(s) helpful.
