Job Title: Chief ACSO/AES Op & Head of Flight Safety
Position Reports To: Head of Training
Job Location: – Ottawa/Winnipeg
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000CAD

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Former military sensor operator with a minimum of 5 years of operational and instructional flight experience.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a flight training environment.
  • Experience with military flight training systems, protocols, and quality assurance standards.
  • Strong understanding of flight safety practices and regulatory compliance, and training program development.
  • Demonstrated Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Completion of a formal flight safety qualification (civil or military).
  • Experience in the Defence and Aerospace industry is considered an asset.
  • Eligible to hold a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Secret level) and Controlled Goods Clearance.
  • Eligible to Work in Canada.
  • Strong Oral and written English language capabilities.
  • Fluency in French would be an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Complete familiarization training on the MCTS Mission System (MS), Dash-8 400 aircraft and ACSO/AES Op Mission Planning System (MPS).
  • Provide Support to the FlightOps IPT, including preparation and delivery of System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR).
  • Prepare and deliver briefings and updates to SkyAlyne leadership through regular meetings and reports.
  • Contribute to and participate in internal/external Program Management Reviews.
  • Coordinate with SkyAlyne subcontractors to plan and execute Familiarization and conversion courses for Dash-8 fleet and Mission Crew Training System (MCTS).
  • Lead the design and development of flight publications, courseware, synthetic training device-based and live flying training sequences for ACSO/AES Op training streams. in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Integrated Product Team (IPT) co-lead.
  • Oversee factory and on-site acceptance testing of courseware, synthetic training devices and aircraft for ACSO/AES Op training streams.
  • Oversee the integration and testing of information management systems and support Contractor Qualified Flight Instructors (CQFI) conversion, flight instructor qualification training, Flight Instructor Conversion (FIC), Field Trials, Ab initio Training Field Trials, and Initial Operational Capability (IOC) execution on the Dash-8 aircraft.
  • Act as the Head of Flight Safety and be responsible for the implementation, provision and conduct of the flight safety program for all 3 training locations.
  • Establish, lead and co-chair the Flight Safety IPT.
  • Develop and enforce Flight Safety documentation, policies and procedures required to support flight operations at all 3 training locations.
  • Through the site’s Flight Safety Officers, provide flight safety advice and flight safety staffing estimates to site leaders and the FAcT Program Manager.
