Description

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Substantial prior relevant experience with Masters or Doctorate

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Agile Scrum Development: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to iteratively deliver high-quality solutions; this includes knowledge of Scrum roles, time-boxes, ceremonies, and artifacts.
  • Application Development: Designing software solutions to meet technical and business needs by leveraging knowledge of programming languages, architecture, and technology.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI): Leveraging advanced methodologies to develop intelligent systems that analyse data, learn from patterns, predict outcomes, and make informed decisions autonomously.
  • Business Analysis: Evaluating business needs and requirements to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Cloud Computing: Managing processing services delivered over the internet; this includes understanding cloud architecture, security controls, and risk.
  • Containerization: Using programs to package code and all its dependencies to allow for consistent deployment across diverse computing environments.
  • DevOps: Employing practices to improve collaboration between development and operations teams; this includes continuous integration and delivery, automation, infrastructure as code, and monitoring.
  • Docker (Software): Designing and managing container applications in the Docker ecosystem.
  • Java: Using the Java programming language to create scalable code and software that support organizational projects.
  • Kubernetes: Using the Kubernetes program to set up, monitor, and modify applications at scale.
  • Microsoft Azure: Leveraging Microsoft Azure to develop cloud-based solutions to address organizational needs.
  • Python (Programming Language): Using knowledge of the Python programming language to develop a variety of software solutions to support organizational processes.
  • Software Development: Designing computer programs or applications to solve problems or automate processes.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Chief Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership and delivering an innovative product, service, or, at higher levels, a combination of both that addresses a customer’s specific business problem. This role is central to a large-scale Supply Chain technology transformation in the Oil and Gas industry, ensuring the design and implementation of a scalable, efficient, and future-proof solution.
The Chief Architect plays a key role in defining the overall technical approach, ensuring alignment with business goals, and driving successful delivery. Your accountability will extend across project start-up, operations, and on-contract growth, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Influences development of innovative solutions via using non-quantitative tools, guidelines, past experience and integration of best practice to positively impact strategic client outputs and Leidos business results.
  • Impacts functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
  • Recommends and develops new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of function’s strategy and operations
  • Leads and manages works of other technical staff that has significant impact on project results/outputs. Acting often as a Menor/Coach to other technical staff.
  • Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualising, reasoning and interpretation
  • Requires ability to communicate with executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of significant importance to the organisation/project
  • Works to convince others to accept area’s view/current practices and agree/accept new concepts, practices and approaches
  • The candidate is required to be a technical leader, able to coordinate and direct engineering teams in successful delivery and acceptance of the system
  • Part of the Technical Management Team responsible for the planning of work packages, allocation of team members and reporting
  • Must have in-depth understanding of technical principles, theories, concepts and their application across range of programmes. Serving as a subject matter expert within their technical domain area.
