A NEW CHIEF CONSTABLE FOR CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Cambridgeshire Constabulary is looking for a new Chief Constable who can provide inspirational and innovative leadership to staff and officers across the organisation.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary is a forward-thinking, proactive and modern police force committed to tackling crime and keeping communities safe. It is a police force dedicated to creating an inclusive working environment where everyone is valued for who they are and what they bring to policing.

If the following attributes describe you then we want to hear from you:

  • Are you an exemplary, inspirational leader who has the vision, commitment and determination to deliver against the current Police and Crime Plan?
  • Does your leadership style include a focus on people, culture and integrity?
  • Do you prioritise listening and responding to the public?
  • Do you have a proven track record of fighting crime and crime prevention?

As Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire Constabulary, you will be both a leader and a role model. You will bring your strong personal values of integrity, transparency, impartiality and commitment to public service to the role. You will have the passion and purpose to inspire officers and staff of today and tomorrow.
Public confidence in the integrity of UK policing remains low with communities losing trust as a result of some recent and high-profile cases. It is essential that you have a strong commitment to the values of integrity, fairness and respect. It will be your responsibility as Chief Constable to ensure Cambridgeshire’s officers and staff adopt the highest ethical standards.
A significant part of the role will be an ability to collaborate effectively with the Police and Crime Commissioner and other external partners so strong communication skills and media experience are essential.
As Chief Constable you will set the strategic vision for the Constabulary underpinned by a strong analytical understanding of performance data.
The above skills are essential to ensure the Constabulary continues to serve the communities of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to the highest standards.
Applications are invited from police officers of all ranks who have received confirmation from the College of Policing that they have passed the Senior Police National Assessment Centre and successfully completed the Strategic Command Course or the Executive Leadership Programme (ELP).
If you would like to have an informal conversation with the Police and Crime Commissioner or his Chief Executive before applying, a visit to Cambridgeshire Constabulary Headquarters in Hinchingbrooke, Huntingdon can be arranged. Please contact Jack Hudson at jack.hudson@cambs.police.uk.
