Description

The Chief Data and Information Officer (CDIO) is responsible for the management, governance, use and protection of data across an organization. The CDIO develops and implements data strategies, policies, controls and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure and reliable. The CDIO also oversees the Information Technology and Technology Development teams. The CDIO will build a data platform that spans all three verticals of the company, R&D, CDMO, and Access using an ‘AI first’ approach to all aspects of the company’s operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 10 years of related experience in data or IT management or other progressive leadership role is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in computer, information technology, or related field required; Advanced degree in technology-related field preferred.
  • Management level role required to lead and manage a team of technology professionals.
  • Experience leading an AI first approach to company functions preferably in a health or biotech company setting required.
  • Leadership experience in technology or data related role, such as IT management or development required.
  • Leadership experience in overseeing complex workflows ensuring efficiency and productivity required.
  • Leadership experience in pharmaceutical, CDMO, manufacturing, biotech or related industry required.
  • Strong project management, change management and organizational skills.
  • Proven creditability to foster, motivate and influence positive behaviors within a team.
  • Strong communication, business acumen, and an aptitude for problem solving and consensus building.
  • Ability to create, format, analyze and share information in spreadsheets using logical, statistical, and mathematical functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities effectively and problem solve, including early identification of issues/problems that may arise.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and collaboration skills, and ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals and organizations.
  • Ability to work as a team member, socialize ideas and build successful working relationships.
  • Analytical with an ability to problem-solve, and strong technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office products, and familiarity with leading project management software tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and drive deliverable through to completion by deadlines provided.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality work.
  • Extended hours, shift and weekend work may be required from time to time.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation of industry best practices across sites, ensure GMP compliance where applicable, and maintain audit/inspection readiness for health authorities (FDA).
  • Ensure that the company has the highest level of data protection and information security infrastructure.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, to identify technology needs, and evaluate and deploy appropriate solutions.
  • Design and implement data strategies and systems including a company-wide data platform to aid and inform operations and decision-making
  • Champion an Artificial Intelligence ‘AI’ First approach across the company.
  • Oversee data management tasks including organizing, cleaning, and securing data.
  • Formulate and implement policies to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Oversee IT team and Technology Development teams to establish best practices for data management.
  • Develop and implement data standards for the organization.
  • Ensure data compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Implement data privacy rights, standards, and protections.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data.
  • Interpret analytics and data and translate information into actionable strategies.
  • Communicate with teams across the organization to ensure data needs are being met.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies that can improve IT department performance and increase company profits.
  • Manage and oversee IT and Technology Development teams.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of IT policies, protocols and standards.
  • Ensure IT department strategies and processes provide appropriate support to company-wide goals.
  • Oversee contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors and service providers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
