CHIEF DENTAL OFFICER – NORTHERN CALIFORNIA COASTAL REGION

Are you a mission-driven dental leader ready to make a lasting impact in rural health? We’re seeking a Chief Dental Officer (CDO) to lead a high-functioning team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving a vibrant Northern California community.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

• Lead and oversee dental services, staff, and program operations
• Manage policies, quality initiatives, and budget in partnership with executive leadership
• Ensure compliance with regulations, payer standards, and productivity benchmarks
• Oversee credentialing, privileging, staffing, scheduling, and peer review
• Provide direct patient care with cultural competence and compassion
• Collaborate across departments to support integrated, patient-centered care
• Maintain accurate records, billing, and HIPAA compliance

REQUIREMENTS:

• DDS or DMD from ADA-accredited dental school
• California dental license, DEA registration, CPR (BCLS/ACLS)
• 5+ years clinical/operational experience
• Proficient in EHR systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
• Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and address sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
