The resort boasts panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country’s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North’s Meryal Waterpark attraction. The Rig 1938 is the world’s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres. Job Description Chief Engineer This position will be responsible for managing the engineering team, setting technical direction, and ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company goals. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise. Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of all systems, facilities, and technical equipment. Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as brand and local standards. Support in developing and managing departmental budgets, cost control measures, and energy efficiency initiatives. Collaborate with senior management and other departments to support smooth hotel operations. Plan and execute capital improvement and renovation projects. Ensure timely completion of maintenance requests and guest service calls. Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify areas for improvement and ensure consistent maintenance of facilities. Lead, motivate, and train team members to deliver exceptional service and technical performance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field). Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in hotel or resort engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role as Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer. Previous experience in a luxury or five-star property is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and energy management. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proven project management and budgeting experience.
