About the location: Steps from the Prophet’s Mosque, our Hotel will offer luxury accommodation for the city’s 1.5 million annual visitors. The new-build hotel will be located at the heart of Madinah and steps from one of the most historic and significant sites in the region: Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, also known as the Prophet’s Mosque. Madinah is also home to the Quba Mosque, which is regarded as the oldest mosque in the world. About the Role We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Engineer to lead the engineering and maintenance operations at Four Seasons Hotel Madinah. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering department, ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of hotel systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining the hotel's facilities at the highest standard, ensuring optimal functionality, guest safety, and energy efficiency. What You Will Do Oversee all engineering operations, including maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems, fire safety systems, and other building infrastructure. Lead the engineering team, providing direction, training, and support to ensure high-quality service and adherence to safety standards. Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure all systems and equipment are functioning efficiently. Manage and supervise all aspects of the hotel's energy management, water treatment, and waste disposal systems, ensuring cost-effective operations and sustainability. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel’s facilities to identify maintenance issues and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Ensure the implementation of emergency preparedness plans and procedures in case of system breakdowns or safety incidents. Oversee capital improvement projects, including renovations, system upgrades, and new equipment installations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Foster a culture of safety and compliance by ensuring engineering staff follow all local regulations, hotel policies, and industry best practices. Liaise with other hotel departments, including Housekeeping, Front Office, and F&B, to ensure smooth coordination of engineering services and operational needs. Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for maintenance and repairs, ensuring they meet the hotel’s standards for quality and performance. Monitor guest feedback and respond to guest-related maintenance concerns, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related technical field. Proven experience in engineering management, preferably within a luxury hospitality setting. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of engineers and maintenance staff. In-depth knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and mechanical systems. Experience in energy management, sustainability initiatives, and green building practices. Strong financial management skills, with experience managing budgets, costs, and capital improvement projects. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical issues efficiently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior management and other hotel departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with engineering management software is a plus. Proficiency in English.
