Job Description:
To provide technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering and to assist the Director of Engineering in the operational aspect of the Engineering Department.
Position: Chief Engineer
Department: Engineering & Maintenance
Purpose: To lead/manage/ train a large-scale team of engineers with various degrees of technical and trade experience. This role will assist the Director of Engineering in the all operational aspects of the Engineering Department.
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain day to day operations by reviewing work orders and assigning work by priorities.
  • Manage and maintain the full upkeep of the preventive maintenance program
  • Organize and keep accurate logs on work done, scheduling and the assignment of projects and other related tasks.
  • Flexible schedule required based on the needs of the resort.
  • Experience with energy and water sustainability practices
  • Assume the full responsibility for the Engineering Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering.
  • Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
  • Must be able adhere to and train staff on all Omni’s SOP and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TRADE SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Experience required for commercial kitchen equipment
  • License required for universal CFC – 5 years HVAC/R experience
  • Expert working knowledge of all MEP trades and systems
  • Valid drivers license required
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in proven hands-on ability to troubleshoot/fix/maintain equipment that supports a large resort.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading large teams of maintenance staff.
  • Must have working knowledge of BAS/EAS/CMMS
  • Must have a thorough understanding of chillers/boilers/steam plant operations
