Job Description Assist in managing the daily operations of the Engineering Department, ensuring all systems and infrastructure function efficiently and in alignment with Velaa’s culture and service standards. Support the Director of Engineering in planning, organizing and supervising maintenance schedules, technical projects and facility operations. Plan and execute maintenance of vessels, diesel generators, HVAC systems and electrical equipment. Manage RO plants, STP systems, and all water networks (fresh, recycled, sewage, irrigation, golf, hydrant).. Also pool and Jacuzzi water treatment systems. Monitor and analyze data using electronic control and measurement systems. Maintain inventory and ensure availability of essential spare parts. Lead and coordinate power plant, plumbing, electrical and HVAC teams for optimal performance. Qualifications Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role in the Maldives, preferably in a luxury resort. Expertise in marine engines and power generator maintenance and strong knowledge of RO plant and STP operations and maintenance. Proficient in AutoCAD and technical tools for project planning/design. Proven leadership in managing engineering teams with a focus on preventive and corrective maintenance. Commitment to high-quality workmanship aligned with resort standards. Skilled in cost control and managing within budget. Active involvement in energy conservation and sustainability initiatives. Ensures compliance with local regulations, environmental and safety standards. Promotes health & safety culture, conducts risk assessments, enforces PPE use. Experienced in project management, from concept to completion (renovation, expansion, capital projects). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-departmental coordination skills.
