We are now looking for a Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering with a can-do attitude and curious mindset to develop and maintain Wet flue gas cleaning solutions portfolio in Valmet’s Environmental Solutions Technology Unit. We help our customers in energy, pulp, wood panel, mineral wool and other selected industrial segments to meet emissions limits with our dry and wet flue gas cleaning solutions. Chief Engineer is a key role in Valmet Environmental solutions Technology function. Together with Product Technology manager you form a winning team responsible for maintaining and improving product competitiveness and developing product performance to meet market needs. You take care of product portfolio renewal as well. You will report to Senior Manager, Technology Chief Engineer is responsible for the mechanical design and solutions of Wet flue gas cleaning product portfolio (Scrubbers and Wet electrostatic precipitators). Besides product management you will advise and support sales and delivery projects of own product portfolio. Your will be responsible for: Cost competitiveness of the wet flue gas cleaning product portfolio Product standardization and modular product structure development and upkeeping Developing and maintaining technical solutions and templates Participation and leading development projects Delivery project feedback and experiences implementation to mechanical design General follow-up work within own field of engineering On sales projects your role is ensure that cost competitive mechanical concept with optimal layout is used. In delivery projects your role is to support projects in form of instructions, technical problem solving and decision making in mechanical design questions. Depending, applicants background You may act in Engineering manager role in delivery project to learn our project delivery way-to-operate and maintain finger pulse. The balance between Chief engineer and Engineering manager of delivery project is thought to be 60% / 40% of time Expectations: To be successful in this position you should have a master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. You may also have knowledge of processes related to our technologies, and a few years of experience in a similar position. In this role you are requested to travel occasionally. You have fluent English skills, both spoken and written, and other languages are an advantage. We appreciate a team player with a positive can-do attitude and curiosity for mechanical engineering. You enjoy working with versatile team of people. You understand the big picture and its causalities, but you are also capable of detailed engineering work. You plan and prioritize your own work independently and can lead others with clear targets and deadlines. You can deliver results in a changing international project environment with tight schedules.
