The Chief Estimator will lead and manage the estimating function for OHLA USA’s Southeast Region. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation of competitive bids and proposals for roadway, civil infrastructure, and paving projects across the region. The Chief Estimator will develop bid strategies, direct estimating teams, and ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and competitive estimates aligned with company goals. This position works closely with leadership, project management, engineering, and procurement to maintain a strong pipeline of successful project awards.
Responsibilities:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 5 years in a senior or chief estimator role.
  • Demonstrated success in winning large projects.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Expert knowledge of estimating principles, cost control, and construction means/methods.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills in a multi-office, multi-project environment.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid), Microsoft Office Suite, and P6.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple concurrent bids.
