About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proven CEO to lead Creditstar Sweden through its next phase of growth. The role covers full operational responsibility for our existing digital consumer lending business, issuing consumer loans to private individuals, as well as leading the process of securing and operating under a Swedish credit market company licence. The CEO will run and grow the current lending operations while building the governance and organisational capabilities required for a licensed credit market company. The role requires a strong background in banking, fintech or regulated credit institutions, with proven experience working closely with regulators and meeting fit and proper requirements. Key Responsibilities Execute overall company strategy covering the existing consumer loan portfolio and future growth under the new licence. Lead the credit market company licensing process while maintaining uninterrupted performance in the current business. Act as the primary contact with Finansinspektionen (FI) and other relevant authorities. Ensure full compliance with Swedish and EU financial regulations, including capital adequacy, AML/CFT, consumer protection, governance, and reporting requirements. Oversee day-to-day operations of the digital consumer lending business with robust internal controls and risk management. Following the granting of the licence, oversee the launch and management of deposit-taking operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and liquidity management. Leverage technology and data to optimise lending operations, credit decisioning, and customer experience. Build and lead a high-performing team capable of scaling into a licensed credit market company. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and regulatory awareness. Manage relationships with regulators, advisors, board members, auditors, and key partners. Required Experience & Qualifications Proven experience as CEO, Managing Director, or senior executive within fintech, banking, or regulated financial services. Experience operating under Swedish regulation (Finansinspektionen) and/or EU financial regulatory frameworks. Understanding of banking and/or credit market company requirements, risk management, AML/CFT, and governance standards. Experience with digital consumer lending and/or deposit-taking operations is desirable. Experience managing regulatory processes, including licence applications is desirable. Ability to meet fit and proper requirements under Swedish financial regulation. Skills & Personal Attributes High personal integrity and strong ethical standards. Comfortable in fast-paced, technology-driven environments as well as in dialogue with financial regulators. Excellent communication skills in English.
