As the eMobility AP Chief Expert, you will act as the technical leader for all electrification-related topics in Bosch Research Asia Pacific. Your expertise will span—but not be limited to—electric drive systems, electric machines, power electronics, thermal systems, chassis actuators, and emerging eMobility technologies. You will steer technical strategy, initiate and lead research projects, and represent Bosch Research as a top technical authority in the region. Key Responsibilities Technology Leadership & Strategy Serve as the chief technical expert for electrification topics in Asia Pacific, providing strategic direction, technology assessments, and trend insights. Continuously monitor China/Asia’s eMobility ecosystem—including OEMs, suppliers, startups, and academia—to support Bosch’s strategic decisions. Translate global research roadmaps into AP-specific programs and ensure alignment with Bosch Research headquarters in Germany. Research Program & Project Leadership Initiate, define, and lead cross-disciplinary research and pre-development programs on electric drive systems, electric machines, power electronics, thermal systems, vehicle actuation, and next-generation eMobility technologies. Oversee multiple research projects in the AP region, ensuring progress, technical quality, and alignment with strategic goals. Drive the effective transfer of research results to Bosch business units in China and worldwide. University & Ecosystem Collaboration Build, maintain, and expand collaborations with top universities, research institutes, and innovation partners across Asia. Represent Bosch Research in external conferences, academic committees, and technology ecosystems. Stakeholder Management Act as a key technical counterpart for senior stakeholders in AP business units, Bosch Research headquarters, and global R&D teams. Communicate complex technical topics clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, enabling informed strategic decisions. Qualifications Education & Technical Background PhD degree in Power Electronics, Electric Machines/Drives, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or other eMobility-related disciplines. Minimum 5 years of industrial or academic experience in electrification-related fields. Deep expertise in at least one major domain: Power electronics / inverter design Electric machine design & control eAxle / eDrive system integration Broad understanding of complete eMobility systems including inverter, motor, gearbox, HV battery, and vehicle systems (preferred). Professional Skills Proven track record in leading complex technical projects or programs, ideally in an international environment. Strong publication and/or patent record demonstrating innovation capability. Excellent communication skills; fluent English (written & spoken). German is a plus. Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence across organizational boundaries. Personal Competencies Passionate about innovation and future mobility technologies.
