Position Title: Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer

Job Type: Regular, Full Time Employee (35 hrs/week)

Compensation: $114, 194 to $135, 423 annually plus a comprehensive compensation package that includes time-off entitlements, health benefits, life insurance, and participation in the HOOPP pension plan.

We are Somerset West Community Health Centre (SWCHC), a non-profit, community-governed organization that serves over 18,000 clients annually. Established in 1978, SWCHC provides a wide range of health care services such as primary health care, health promotion, community development, mental health, and harm reduction. YOUR EDUCATION PATH

  • Master’s level degree in business, public or health administration; or other relevant graduate degree. A relevant undergraduate degree with additional years of direct experience may be considered.
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.

LIFE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Senior financial experience with significant levels of management and budgetary responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in finance and corporate services of complex non-profit organizations.
  • Experience in health care and non profit sector is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for safeguarding the financial health and operational integrity of the organization. This role provides strategic leadership and oversight of all corporate service functions, including finance (budgeting, controls, systems, procurement, and funding agreements), facilities management (plant, property, equipment, and cleaning services), corporate administration, reception, and information technology.
The Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer leads the development and execution of financial and operational strategies that ensure sustainability, legal compliance, and alignment with organizational priorities. They serve as a principal advisor to the CEO and Board on financial planning, risk management, and resource allocation, while also fostering strong working relationships with funders, partners, and internal stakeholders.
This is a critical executive leadership role that blends strategic thinking with operational execution. The Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer ensures the effective integration of corporate services into the organization’s broader mandate and contributes to organization-wide initiatives that enhance impact, efficiency, and service excellence.
