POSITION SUMMARY:

The CFO position is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems requiring strong knowledge of operating in the Federal space. This position reports to the company President, and is the senior financial person in the company.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services, preparing growth plans, and directing staff.
  • Develops financial strategies which are in line with organizational short term and long term objectives.
  • Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; designing systems; resolving problems; and implementing change
  • Leads the development and use of best-practices, policies, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management and cross team communications.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
  • Provides status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data including preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advises management of actions and potential risks.
  • Manages DCAA and DCMA requests for information and audits as required and appropriate.
  • Manages budget and controls expenses effectively.
  • Manages daily accounting department operations including invoicing, payables, payroll and budgets.
  • Performs all tasks associated with contract and sub-contract management.
  • Manages bid and proposal process.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of DoD financial management including FAR and DFAR regulations.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with DCAA, DCMA audits.
  • Experience with financial data analysis, manufacturing work in process accounting, financial projections and internal controls.
  • Extensive Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point) and QuickBooks.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be eligible for DoD Secret clearance.
