The CFO is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring the company’s financial health, and driving long-term growth and profitability. This role requires a balance of strategic vision, operational excellence, a problem-solving mindset, and hands-on leadership in a dynamic, growth-oriented manufacturing environment. Essential Functions * Provide financial leadership, strategic insight, and guidance to the President and executive team. * Lead all financial operations, including accounting policies, manufacturing costing, budgeting, forecasting, tax planning, treasury management, and financial reporting. * Ensure that budgets and expenditures are aligned with Bake’n Joy’s strategy, as well as appropriate financial inputs to strategy development, revision, and implementation. * Anticipate business risks, assess their impact on the ability to achieve company goals, develop action plans, and ensure solutions have been realized. * Partner with the executive team on mergers and acquisitions, and expansions into new, different, or expanding lines of business. * Play an integral role in identifying opportunities for profit improvement and maximizing return on investment, and be deeply involved in fundamental accounting matters and operational results. * Assess current financial practices to identify opportunities to gain efficiencies through automated processes, systems improvements, and best practices. * Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, business insurance risk, tax filings, audits, and financial reporting standards. * Partner with operations and supply chain teams to optimize cost management and improve margins. * Lead capital planning, including investment analysis, financing strategies, and risk management. * Provide clear and timely financial reporting and analysis to inform business decisions. Prepare monthly management reports that summarize variances from the established budget. * Leads relationship with financial institutions and compliance. * Manage and administer the company’s business insurance programs, including general liability, auto, workers’ compensation, and directors & officers (D&O) coverage. * Partner with business leaders to streamline the contract review process, focusing on representations/ warranties and other key terms, with the goal of reducing legal expenses and expediting contract turnaround times. * Build and mentor a strong finance team, fostering a culture of caring, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Collaborate with the President and People & Culture leader on succession planning, governance, and the preservation of family business values. Required Education & Experience * A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. An MBA and/ or CPA, in addition, is preferred. * A minimum of 10+ years of progressive financial senior leadership experience, with significant time spent in manufacturing or food industry environments. * Treasury management experience, including financing, leasing, and short and long-term lending. * M&A experience, including due diligence, integration, and value capture. * Real estate, building, and construction finance experience, particularly for facility expansion. * Proficient in analyzing financial data to inform decision-making. * Pass-through entity expertise and its impact on taxation. * Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing finance. * Experience overseeing core back-office functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, trade spend, payroll, and general accounting to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal controls. * Experience identifying and implementing process improvements affecting other stakeholders. * Experience in mid-sized (500+ employees), multi-site manufacturing operations; specific experience within family-owned or privately held companies is a plus. Preferred Education & Experience * Bilingual proficiency in Spanish. Work Environment The role is office-based within a food manufacturing facility and may occasionally require visiting production areas, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical Demands * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Ability to navigate different departments within the facility. Reports To: * Bake’n Joy President Position Type * Full-Time Work Hours * Core hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. * This position requires an in-office presence. Travel * Regional vehicular travel may be required for training facilitation, meetings, and manufacturing plant visits. Compensation The typical starting salary range for this position is $319,500-$320,000 a year. Several factors, including skills, experience, education, certifications, and the location of the job will determine the actual pay offered. The salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for associates in these positions.  This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
